We don’t have one commercially available automated car. We do have hundreds of millions of cars with no automation at all. Which makes most of these predictions closer to science fiction than anything else. The technology doesn’t work yet and might not work at all with human drivers. What is the way to make this work that works both in NYC and in Iowa?
The speculation reminds me of the speculation seen at Disney World in their Word of Tomorrow stuff. Some might end up being correct at some point, but that point is farther off than the author here thinks.
