Here it is…get ready!!!
The most important Fitness Tip is to make time for you! It all starts with that first step. Make you and your health a priority. Make that the top tip you follow, and you are on your way to becoming healthier and happier.
I don’t know about you, but scheduling time for fitness, planning a workout, packing the car, and taking a trip to the local gym just doesn’t work for me.
I had to find times and workout routines that I could put at the top of my to do list and make them easily accessible. My solution is that a large majority of my routines are made up of numerous programs on DVD! I can work them into times of my day that I schedule. I don’t have to plan someone to watch the kids, and I don’t have to leave the house!
Another important fitness tip to getting healthy and fit is all about making time for you and picking a program that you will stick with. Then just move, make it happen! You will be so surprised with how great you feel when you are done.
Next fitness tip is to be sure to find a good program that you enjoy and will do. It has to be fun, otherwise you won’t do it. It also needs to be made up of many programs and components, or you will get bored and frustrated. If you do the same routine, day after day and week after week, you will fail. You will get bored and give up. You body will not show the results you are working for because the routine never differs and different muscles never get worked. If you keep switching up your routines, you will not get bored and you will keep your muscles in constant confusion, which causes faster results.
Next Fitness Tip is to choose to live a healthy lifestyle! The old saying, “you are what you eat” is and always will be true. You can work yourself to death running, lifting weights, sweating, etc., but if you don’t eat well, then you are wasting your time. Work on eating a “clean” diet. Once you give up the large amounts of processed foods, sugars, and extra calories, you will see that you don’t even miss them. Does that mean you can never have a burger and fries? Absolutely not! You still can have a treat once in awhile. However, most days keep it clean and healthy. In the end, you will enjoy the “treats” way more if they are only eaten on special occasions. This is a package deal, a lifestyle deal! It is not about how many times you hit the gym…it is about how much you love yourself and care to take care of yourself. You should live it, love it, and share it with your family and friends.
So what is my schedule like and what works for me? 4:30 a.m.!!! Yeah, I know that sounds extreme, and it is. It just seems to be the best time I have to take care of me! Granted, I am a morning person, so that helps. Plus, I tend to call it a day by 9:00 p.m., so that also helps. I love that time because the kids are fast asleep, the house is quiet, and I can promise you that the phones are not ringing!! It just works for me. What works for you?
The first step in committing to a program is scheduling a “me” time for it. You know your schedule, and moms usually do all the planning, so we each know our perfect times. I have many friends who prefer evenings when the kids are in bed. It is a time that only we can establish.
Remember the importance of bringing good foods into your home. Another hat we wear…shopper and chef. We are in the best position to provide healthy diets to ourselves and the ones we love. This will help you also maintain your “clean” eating habits. Not only are you providing the very best for your loved ones, but you are making it easier to only give yourself good food as well.
Keep in mind that one of the most important fitness tips is healthy eating.
