In response to this need, we have developed the first biometric identification system based on the venous network in three dimensions: The 3D Finger Vein Biometric Identification.
Each venous network is unique and cannot be replicated. Using images of the finger placed under a light source, our solution reconstructs the venous map in three dimensions.
We implement leading-edge cryptographic technology that prevents the reconstructed image to be revealed in whole in order to protect the privacy of users. In this way, the identification process is fully secured!
Developed through collaboration between 3 leading laboratories, undisputed in their field of expertise: Idiap Research Institut, Hes-So Valais Wallis and EPFL, particularly the Security and Cryptography Laboratory (LASEC).
