GLOBAL ID Presentation — 3D Finger Vein Biometric Identification

GLOBAL ID is the name of our startup located on the EPFL Innovation Park site in Lausanne. This huge campus allows for increased technological advances because it allows for a high degree of cross-functionality in projects with other leading organizations. In our case, it is the scientists:

of the IDIAP Research Institute, the biometric specialists who developed the identification based on 3D Finger vein scanning,
- of the HES-SO-Valais-Wallis who created the scanner,
- of the Laboratory of Security and Cryptography of the EPFL, which encrypts data to guarantee the protection of the private sphere of individuals,
- of the CSEM, which miniaturizes our scanner to meet the needs of our prospects such as the Jura hospital. This is the only prospect that allows us, for the time being, to communicate its positive intentions towards our technology.

Our technology therefore makes it possible to reliably identify and authenticate individuals while protecting their personal data. Here is a 1m30 Design Motion that explains how it works!

Identification also works with the use of surgical gloves! It was one of the hospital’s requirements. But soon it would be contactless!

We signed a partnership agreement with the giant ATOS in June 2019. ATOS allows us to integrate our solution through their standard SSO type, for example.
In the case of the Jura hospital, ATOS will be responsible for the integration of our technology at the customer’s site as well as all preventive and corrective maintenance.

To continue the development and meet the requirements of our customers, we need funds so we have just launched an STO with the objective of raising 6 million Swiss francs (via ethereum) by the end of 2019.

This will allow us to finance miniaturization. For example, to divide the size of the scanner by 2, it is necessary to count nearly 500'000 chf. This investment meets the needs of the client cited which is the Jura hospital.

But we have NGOs, who want mobile, autonomous and very robust scanners…. so it costs us a little more,
And we have cellular equipment manufacturers, who would like it to be even smaller to be integrated into smartphones… so it costs even more in development.

Finally, we have started to study the creation of our own blockchain to protect the data.

Of course the market is colossal, even infinite… hoteliers and car lock suppliers have also approached us but it is difficult for us to launch all these development projects at the same time. We need to make choices and find funding.

This subject is intended to make us known so do not hesitate to share and I remain naturally ready to answer your questions.

Thank you for your interest,
