We fired our top talent. Best decision we ever made.
Jonathan Solórzano-Hamilton

I was forced into being a Rick by managers that were non-IT and didn’t think me working 24/7/365 was a problem. I quit. They replaced me with 6 people (that they wouldn’t hire to help me). 10 years later they apologized. But the project never recaptured the innovation and creativeness that it had. We had a great team at the core — other than not trusting my judgement to put in basic change control. Oh, what could have been.

Lesson: Not every Rick wants to be a Rick.
