Truth Is Truth: And One Day We Will All Know It
This Is Why There Will Be A Judgment Day
When you tell me that, you know, he should testify because he’s going to tell the truth and he shouldn’t worry, well that’s so silly because it’s somebody’s version of the truth. Not the truth.
President Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani said this to NBC’s Chuck Todd on Meet the Press on August 18.
“Truth is truth,” said Todd in response.
Here is what Giuliani then said:
“No, no, it isn’t truth,” Giuliani said. “Truth isn’t truth.
This is the latest version of “alternative facts” coming out of this Administration and its supporters and spokespeople. Giuliani later defended his comments:
He said on Twitter that those words had not been “a pontification on moral theology” but referred to cases of “he said, she said”.
Yet, there is a moral theology behind truth. There can only be one truth. Contrary to the assertion of some in power, there are no such things as “alternative facts.” There is truth, and there is falsehood. And, as God says, truth will always win out in the end:
And say, ‘The truth has come, and falsehood has passed away: falsehood is bound to pass away.” (17:81)
Now, it is quite true that there are many who promote falsehood with abandon. There are many who profit from falsehood. There are many who use falsehood to promote their own self-interest at the expense of all others.
That is why there will be — and has to be — a judgment day in which all accounts will be settled, and truth — the real truth — will be declared for all to see and hear. And those who have peddled in falsehood will be exposed as the frauds they truly are for all to see and hear.
You see, God is the Ultimate Truth, and He suffers no rival on the earth or in the sky. Yes, He may give respite to those who peddle in falsehood for a while. He may let them think that they are invincible and untouchable for a while. But He will take them to task eventually. For truth is truth, and the truth will always win out in the end.
