I’m sorry to hear about this, but not surprised. I’ve used Trip Advisor for several years, mostly to find restaurants when I’m traveling. I try to leave careful and accurate reviews, and hoped that most people did the same. I’m always put off with people giving one-star reviews for silly reasons (“I had to walk over a block because the parking lot was full.” “The menu was sticky.”), but otherwise hoped that the aggregate of reviews would be reasonable. And I use my initial and last name, with a photo, so I didn’t post anonymously. I’ve never used it for booking, however. After reading this article, I think I’m not a fan any more.
