Teenager shot in Fairfax County

17-year-old Maurice Berger was shot outside his house in Lorton, Virginia, on Tuesday night. Police are still investigating in hopes of identifying the shooter. A vigil was held for him by the Fairfax County community on Wednesday, Sept. 15.

Payments on $1.9 million loan revisited for Natural Bridge owner

The Natural Bridge is in the process of being made into a state park by the state of Virginia. However, in this economic recession, the Virginia Conservation Legacy Fund struggled to make payments on the $1.9 million loan they borrowed from the Virginia Resource Authority. The authority’s board approved a 10-year extension of the loan at a meeting in Richmond on Tuesday.

Former CEO of VRT convicted of bribery

Mark McGregor of Charles Town, 63, was found guilty of a bribery scheme that resulted in the U.S. Government losing $380,000. He was sentenced with 18 months in prison as well as a $50,000 fine for bribery and $380,000 in restitution.
