Is Elon Musk the smartest person in Silicon Valley?
To the moon Alice!! Quipped Ralph Kramden.
I’m kinda-sorta wishing right now I could resurrect ol’ Ralph to see if he could give Elon Musk-iah his wish — to colonize Mars and whatever the hell else he wants to do up there [and get him the hell away from us ‘civilized’ humans]. Maybe he can give martians their first taste of Universal Basic Income. Maybe he can let them ride around in one of his Tesla’s. Maybe he and Matt Damon can exchange gardening secrets. Maybe once he colonizes Mars he can get impaled in Uranus.
Look, you quasi-intellectual, crony capitalist horseface, you are not South Africa’s best export — that distinction belongs to Charlize Theron (you’re the real ‘monster’ if you were wondering, btw). And if there are any South African Great White Sharks reading this, why couldn’t you have taken this problem off our hands years ago before this shit heel manifested?!?!). So, cool your jets Space Xcrement face (literally). He wants to go to Mars, he wants to implant electrodes in our brains, he wants to send us from L.A. to NYC at 760 mph in an inner tube, and he wants to create a tunnel system of sorts.
Probably to find his long lost daddy rat face Master Splinter
Looks like a place to store bodies of UBI recipients if you ask me.
Maybe it’s a fallout shelter?
Where is our ‘fallout’ shelter to protect us from Musk-iah’s idiocy?
From the stratosphere to subterranean levels, it’s all about Elon Musk-iah. And according to his pacifying, apparently equally brain dead cohorts, he is Silicon Valley’s most impotent…I mean, important and admired tech leader.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Sorry Elon nuthuggers, wrong guess. Would you care to go for Double Jeopardy where the scores can really change?
Maybe Elon’s doing nose candy on the Bowie coke mirror? That would make a lot more sense, right?
“Tesla’s on Mars” could be the first intergalactic ‘hit’ single, ever! Kanye could sing the hook! Another ‘first’ for our new master.
How in the hell did we get to this unfortunate point with Musk-iah ready to take over as the leader of the human — I mean, AI human-symbiote race, anyways?
The pitfalls of being so “Musky”
In the meantime, the question of how to compensate taxpayers for Tesla-esque successes remains a distinct issue, one that the government would do well to pay more attention to the next time it plays venture capitalist. If the government had demanded an ownership stake in reasonable proportion to the amount of money it put at risk, Tesla would be just as successful as it is today. The only difference would be that the taxpayers who saved the company would share in that success.
Isn’t it funny that just a few years ago SolarCity was spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to lobby Congress and DOE on climate legislation, the Recovery Act, and legislation that had to do with solar development and just recently, Tesla had to bail out SolarCity with a $2-billion merger, to be financed by an all-stock transaction of worthless paper? SolarCity received $344 million in loan guarantees from DOE and when it went public, Musk pocketed half a billion. Not bad. Tesla received a $465 million dollar loan guarantee from DOE and when it went public, Elon pocketed $1 billion. Not bad again. Tesla is still bleeding money and and still can’t deliver cars on time. Tesla’s capex in the 1st quarter of ’17 is projected to be more than the combined total for the past six quarters. Tesla has pre-orders of the Model 3 at 373,000 as of this past May yet it can’t even produce 8,000 cars a month. They have missed deliverables three years in a row. They are forecast to spend $2.5 billion in capital expenditures in the first half of ’17 alone. Tesla’s stock is closing at an all-time high with a market cap almost that of Ford’s but what happens when they keep missing deadlines? What happens if they keep needing cash infusions? What happens if they can’t sell enough cars to become profitable?
Musk-iah is nothing but a hypocritical opportunist, and crony capitalist. Whichever president or person in power who can help finance your projects right, Elon? He supported Hillary but when she lost he was quick to suck up to Trump and Steve Bannon after the election.
You sure we need all of these robots?
Look at how CEO Bayard Winthrop of the clothing company ‘American Giant’ overcame robots “taking over” his company: Winthrop explained that he got better-quality clothes more efficiently when people acted more like old-fashioned craftsmen, and less like robots.
You mean to tell me he’s the only one who can figure it out?
But, Mr. “Musk-iah” can’t be bothered to help the wretched, the poor, the huddled masses of those in the U.S. to realize their dreams, pursue liberty, become entrepreneurs, or even figure out a way to ensure we have ‘new’ jobs once the robots start coming for our ‘old’ jobs. And that’s because he is living in another world. His. You want a job in 2030? Not according to Elon Musk. Ironically/hypocritically/sickeningly he is on Trump’s Strategic and Policy Forum, and Manufacturing Jobs Initiative as a corporate adviser ( I thought it was a joke, too).
I guess he’s teaching Trump how to get rid of as many of us as possible so he can play with his new AI-human symbiotes. You can’t be an “adviser” on jobs for Americans on one hand and in your other hand is a stiletto ready to gut jobs with your genius AI inventions. I am not interested in living in a shadow economy as a result of UBI or any of the following:
How much more money are we going to give this subsidizing, scepter-holding parasite? He’s gotten $5 BILLION in subsidies. For $5 billion, I could personally create a lot of jobs for Americans that WILL be here in 2030. The amount of money that he has pilfered from taxpayers is ungodly and is being used to create a world where we will slowly lose everything that makes us, us. I’m not sure if this kind of sociopathological, ill-conceived grandiosity has ever been seen before by a single megalomaniac — considering the breadth of what Elon wants to do. This is what happens when you keep subsidizing b.s.:
Let the evisceration begin…shall we?
That’s right…I haven’t yet begun to defile Mr. Musk-iah.
With some assistance from my homeboy Nikola Tesla…let’s do this
So, Elon believes a human being’s instincts are “primitive?” Listen and look at how casually and flippantly he mentions a human being’s “instincts”. Like it doesn’t even matter. I understand your machinations and pantomimes, Elon. You can’t fool me.
I’d say our instincts are one of, if not our greatest asset as a species (Nikola Tesla agrees with me). Leave my limbic system alone, Mr. Musk-iah. This guy is a walking, talking contradiction and hypocrite and has illusions of grandeur. This is the same guy that is going to bring us the ‘Hyperloop’…except, he’s not.
He wants to make our species inter-planetary and colonize Mars but he seems content to have us in the U.S. (and the world) be dependent on Universal Basic Income
If 50% of jobs are going to be replaced by robots by 2030, then why aren’t “geniuses” like Musk-iah figuring out how we can collectively, as a nation, make sure there are enough jobs for people in 2030? Hmm…
What do you do with a nation of people with nothing to do? Well, according to Musk-iah, just give them a monthly stipend and they can wallow in the mire until they die. Or, maybe he can just experiment on all of us and turn us into AI- human symbiotes. I’m not interested in sacrificing my humanity, my brain, or my dreams for Mr. Musk-iah’s gain.
I personally think his moral compass is a bit off and he needs to come back down to earth and realize that colonizing Mars is unrealistic and a waste of energy and effort and taxpayer dollars when you have real world problems like human beings not having jobs and people like Musk-iah who seem content to create a co-dependent society where millions and millions of people are on the gov’t dole. Which, again, is pretty ironic considering Musk-iah’s dreams [and our potential nightmares] are realized through subsidies.
If you think UBI is good for America, it is basically like you are saying you are giving up on ‘The American Dream’. Continued automation of jobs and UBI is a recipe for disaster if new jobs are not created.
‘Automation would dramatically increase a society’s wealth.’
“With automation, there will come abundance,” Musk said.
“Almost everything will get very cheap.”
“That money “”””theoretically”””” could be redistributed to give people financial security even if they didn’t work.”
“Because a very small amount of people have an almost unimaginable amount of money at the very top”
See the trend and thought process? The 1% need to figure out a better way or they just might have a revolution on their hands
“ We don’t have to worry about some evil dictator AI, because we are the AI” — Elon Musk
Where does this fatalistic, self-defeating attitude come from, anyways? Money & robots do not matter — people matter. AI, at the behest of a few and at the sacrifice of many is ideological suicide. It becomes societal destitution at the lowest levels. What Mr. Musk-iah is trying to attain and some are championing is antithetical to the human race and our existence. It is perversion. It is a crime against humanity. When I think of UBI and its connectedness with AI, I see it as ‘refuse of the mind’. There is a misconception that a movement in any direction is progression.
The ironical thing with regard to Musk-iah is that he named his company after Nikola Tesla-one of the greatest minds and inventors in history and a man who subsisted on his own thoughts and ingenuity.
He [Tesla] was the epitome of independence and the American Dream. I would imagine Tesla would scoff at Mr. Musk-iah’s notion of turning the human race into cyborgs. Musk-iah needs a reality check. I don’t want to improve my neural link or become an AI-human symbiote so Elon can take his lofty ambitions and pound them up his Hyperloop at 760 mph! I don’t think he’s rational at all and I don’t trust him nor would I follow him into battle.
“The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane.” ― Nikola Tesla
“ But instinct is something which transcends knowledge. We have, undoubtedly, certain finer fibers that enable us to perceive truths when logical deduction, or any other willful effort of the brain, is futile.” ― Nikola Tesla
“Today’s scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality. ” ― Nikola Tesla
“You may live to see man-made horrors beyond your comprehension.” ― Nikola Tesla
“ Our first endeavors are purely instinctive prompting of an imagination vivid and undisciplined. As we grow older reason asserts itself and we become more and more systematic and designing. But those early impulses, though not immediately productive, are of the greatest moment and may shape our very destinies. Indeed, I feel now that had I understood and cultivated instead of suppressing them, I would have added substantial value to my bequest to the world. But not until I had attained manhood did I realize that I was an inventor.” ― Nikola Tesla
“When we speak of man, we have a conception of humanity as a whole, and before applying scientific methods to the investigation of his movement we must accept this as a physical fact. But can anyone doubt to-day that all the millions of individuals and all the innumerable types and characters constitute an entity, a unit? Though free to think and act, we are held together, like the stars in the firmament, with ties inseparable. These ties cannot be seen, but we can feel them. I cut myself in the finger, and it pains me: this finger is a part of me. I see a friend hurt, and it hurts me, too: my friend and I are one. And now I see stricken down an enemy, a lump of matter which, of all the lumps of matter in the universe, I care least for, and it still grieves me. Does this not prove that each of us is only part of a whole? For ages this idea has been proclaimed in the consummately wise teachings of religion, probably not alone as a means of ensuring peace and harmony among men, but as a deeply founded truth. The Buddhist expresses it in one way, the Christian in another, but both say the same: We are all one. Metaphysical proofs are, however, not the only ones which we are able to bring forth in support of this idea. Science, too, recognizes this connectedness of separate individuals, though not quite in the same sense as it admits that the suns, planets, and moons of a constellation are one body, and there can be no doubt that it will be experimentally confirmed in times to come, when our means and methods for investigating psychical and other states and phenomena shall have been brought to great perfection. Still more: this one human being lives on and on. The individual is ephemeral, races and nations come and pass away, but man remains. Therein lies the profound difference between the individual and the whole.” ― Nikola Tesla
The “real” Nikola Tesla makes the wannabe Nikola Tesla look like this:
Straight faded homie…
You’re not even a Randian-style hero, Elon. Tesla was the genuine article while you’re flawed in your particles. A cheap carbon copy. Old news…
Musk-iah is like a New World Order carnival barker. He’s like… if ‘The Bride of Frankenstein’ and Charles Ponzi made a baby. He’s a schmendrick. A barnacle brain. A dreg of society. He is unrealized Rasputin. A big mamaluke.
Final Act: The Human Spirit, 80’s Retrospect, & Americanism
“Look, Elon, we just might have something to say in our last few hours. We are the possibility. What we are talking about is the human spirit. That’s the challenge. That’s the voyage. That’s the expedition. We are already perfectly imperfect. We don’t need your assistance or robotic interference. Have you truly forsaken us as a species?”
If that’s the case, then it’s been one hell of a ride. Thanks for everything, Elon.
You know what? We changed our minds. We ain’t ready yet baby…we ain’t ready.
You see, Mr. Musk-iah, we have dealt with your kind before… in the EIGHTIES
I’m an 80’s kid. I used to go door-to-door in the 80’s to wash people’s cars and get a few quid. I was my own boss at eight years old. I was poor. We were poor. I wanted baseball cards and candy. The only way I could figure out how to get any money was to go door-to-door and ask people if they wanted their car(s) washed. I loved it and my customers appreciated the fact I was providing a valuable service at such a young age. I put the money in my piggy bank (remember those?). I was self-sufficient in many ways and continue to be so. I had dreams and aspirations then and still do. Imagine if all of that is taken away from me (us) at the whim of a select few? We are drilling this kind of creative ingenuity out of an entire generation of kids and future generations of kids. Imagine if the kids of today never learn to tap into their creative, entrepreneurial spirit (among other things). This isn’t a game to me — this is my fucking life. This is others’ lives.
Look at the humanity
we had in the 80’s as compared to now. We were literally breaking down international walls. We ended the Cold War (Peace, Boris). And now we are building ‘new’ walls (I call it the ‘Socioeconomic Wall of Bullshit’) between the 1% and everyone else and to what end? How have we regressed so far? We are headed down the wrong path with this kind of divisiveness which is leading us to a nation of apathy and immorality. How could we have been so progressive in the 80’s only to get to a point in 2017 when our humanity has been put on the stake because of vanity?
When in doubt, turn to 80’s (mostly) musicians for guidance and light to the future…
“I’m only human…of flesh and blood I’m made. I’m only human…born to make mistakes” — The Human League “
“Don’t you (Elon), forget about me” — Simple Minds
“Welcome to your life, there’s no turning back. Even while we sleep, we will find you. Acting on your best behavior, turn your back on mother nature. Everybody wants to rule the world. It’s my own design. It’s my own remorse.” — Tears for Fears
“Standing in line, marking time, waiting for the UBI dime, ’Cause they can’t buy a job. The man in the Tesla hurries by, as he catches the poor old lady’s eyes. Just for fun he says………..”Get a job.” — Bruce Hornsby & Michael Rousseau collaboration
Don’t you want us, baby? We don’t have hearts of glass .We are owners of lonely hearts. We know you want to be a rocket man but Mars ain’t the kind of place to raise your kids — in fact, it’s cold as hell. Is the money really for nothing so you can get your kicks for free with the west end girls? We can’t go for that and think that you are out of touch and we won’t get out of our buffalo stance. Stop being such a maneater. I know you think this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and that this must be the place but you are coming across as a psycho killer who wants to take us to the river and drown us in the water. I assure you that is a road to nowhere.
Does the year 1984 ring a bell for you, Elon? It should, in both literary and celluloid contexts.
and millions more are the resistance. You will not force us into AI human Symbiotes — we will not kneel down to slurp your Silicon Valley ensconced c___ and partake in your UBI (United Bullshit Indoctrination). What do you think this is, Superman II, where you play General Zod? GTFO! You have become ‘AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted’…and it’s going to take a ‘Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back’ because we are ‘Rebels Without A Pause’
p.s. maybe Kim Jong Un knows some hot Asian chicks who could help us out?
****Some of the above is satirical in nature. Don’t get your symbiote panties in a bunch, suckas ****
