I wish I was being sarcastic. No, Cruz is actually a very intelligent man. He just uses that intelligence for evil, and not for good.

To get to where he is today (the defacto leader of the Tea Party), Cruz actually left his family for a year to go back home to Texas and rebuild his base to eventually get elected as a senator from Texas. He’s very calculating and is a good strategist. I don’t think he thought through Trump’s run (I mean, did anyone?!?!) as well as he should have, but it really is worth noting that he garnered about 30% of the vote throughout the primaries.

So yes, what scares me most about Cruz, beyond his racist ways, is how wickedly intelligent he is. He’ll be back…
