The Church Needs to Act
Introduction and Identification
In today’s world, it is no surprising fact anymore that everything seems to be deteriorating. Evil is running rampant on the streets, in our schools, on our televisions, and so much more.
I have a palpable feeling that we do not have much longer until society slips further and further into the trenches.
It’s understandable that these words may scare you, or you just may be tired of hearing these things. But I am a firm believer that it is important the church is preparing its flock for an extremely uncomfortable era.
Personally, I need to do better with this as well. The church is not focused on the issues of today, which all fall under spiritual warfare or spiritual sleepiness (total ignorance).
The world is like big one game. The Christians are losing in a battle for souls while the church is sitting on the sidelines watching it happen. While our Lord already has it won and planned out, it is nonetheless up to us to bring more to the winning side.
I don’t mean going on the streets and screaming about politics, or other personal matters. The only thing that will help our side in the game is Jesus Christ, and nothing less.
The Gospel message has the potential to change the world, so why isn’t the church bringing the awareness of spiritual warfare to its congregations, and then equipping them with this crucial message to bring people to the only One that can save them from what’s about to come?
The Ecclesiastical Cycle
With this in mind, I have come up with three words to remember, that will help anyone in their quest in this spiritual war that the world has been put through.
1. Engage
A pastor, a family member, friend, or even a random person that may be talking to you, and the first step is to be willingly engaged in the message by someone, or multiple people, in learning about the state of our planet and why it has gotten to this point.
2. Equip
The next step is through teaching about Christ and His Gospel message through the Bible. The only way to correctly go about the issues of today is through equipping people with the message that has saved so many from damnation.
3. Express
This last step is what repeats the cycle itself. Encourage people to go around telling others out the things that are occurring. With this, the three steps will repeat, and the Word will spread like water putting out the enemy’s wildfire.
Final Words
I hope that these steps will help you in these times, as they have begun to help me.
Remember brethren, we are in a critical time, and please make sure you are encouraging your fellow members of the faith to go forth in the advancement of God’s Word.
I will end this out with an encouraging Bible verse from the Apostle Paul. “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21)
Let’s hope we can become like him as well in our journey to spread the Gospel, because he had an unquenchable drive to make sure people would be aware of Christ, His ultimate sacrifice, and resurrection as rightful King of the World.
