A fan of Broadway musicals, Graham Casson particularly enjoys Les Miserables, which was inspired by Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel of the same name.
Now, Andrew Davies, who wrote the recent War and Peace miniseries, is adapting the novel for a six-part BBC miniseries. Unlike the Broadway version or 2012 film starring Hugh Jackman, the miniseries will not be a musical, but closely follow the novel of nearly 1,500 pages.
