Greetings! We are witnessing a thrilling new era of the industrial AI revolution that is about to completely transform the world as we know it. As any astute investor would tell you, the value of knowledge and ideas has been on a bear run. However, before delving into the core of this article, I want to explain why ChatGPT and Midjourney are more than just text and image editing tools.

ChatGPT takes my job: Its face says it all

In the realm of deep learning, there is a term called Feature Vector. Although it may have a complex definition on Wikipedia, in simpler terms, it can be described as a digitized form of thoughts, knowledge, and even imagination. As an illustration, consider the sequence of 4 digits [7, 42, 108, 10], which can be used to represent the English thought “I love you”. On the other hand, in Spanish, the same sentiment could be represented by [7, 42, 108, 11]. For ChatGPT, this task of translating a thought from one language to another is as simple as adding 1 to the final digit of the original sequence. It’s fascinating, isn’t it?

And this principle applies to everything, including SEO texts, programs, and any other form of text-based content. This explains why ChatGPT is not limited to text processing alone but can also operate with thoughts and knowledge. The same applies to Midjourney, which operates based on visual imagination rather than just pixels. The generation of full-fledged videos using neural networks is not far off, with projects like Runway Gen-2 and Multi-ControlNet paving the way. It’s only a matter of time before 99% of the content on the internet is generated by AI, and it will happen much faster than you might think.

Therefore, a natural question arises: How will we earn money if all digital content is created by neural networks? And let’s go even further: How can we make money if all the thoughts and fantasies of people lose their value under the influence of AI? Let’s explore this dystopian scenario, and I’ll provide five examples of activities and businesses that will not be affected by the emergence of artificial intelligence.

Rental services and investments

Renting out assets and investing are proven ways to generate a steady stream of income. People will always need a place to live, so the rental market is unlikely to be affected by AI advancements. You can also rent out your car or other equipment. This method of earning is heavily dependent on what you already possess. Additionally, you can invest in real estate, stocks, and cryptocurrencies (although the latter resembles gambling to some). However, if you don’t have anything to rent out, let’s move on to the next example.

Physical product creation

Creating physical products is another area that won’t be affected by the rise of AI. You can start a business that produces tangible items that customers can touch and feel. For instance, you could use a 3D printer, like Anycubic, to make small parts, figurines, or tools.

Alternatively, you could bake and sell cakes, make accessories, planters, or embroidery pieces. Look for popular trends in your local market and try to fill a niche if you enjoy this type of work.

Local services

Local services are still necessary despite the rapid development of technology. While we rely on the internet for many things, there will always be a demand for in-person services. Finding a job that suits your abilities and interests can be challenging, but there are many options available.

Personally, I have skills in computer and car repair that I could offer to people in my community. Additionally, I could teach computer science or music theory to children who are still learning about the digital world. Fields like psychotherapy and caregiving also require a compassionate human touch, which cannot be replaced by technology.

Agriculture

Consider organic farming as an option. You can grow your own products and sell them, just as people did centuries ago. This option has the added benefit of reducing your dependence on society as you can provide yourself with food. Additionally, you can sell any surplus produce. This is a win-win situation as your body will thank you for consuming clean, healthy food free from carcinogens.

Local events

Another way to earn a living in a world like this is by organizing local events. You could plan outdoor or food festivals, indie music concerts, community events like table game parties, theatrical performances, and more. Although it’s not something that comes naturally to me due to my introverted nature, it might be a good fit for you.

Many people are facing the reality that AI is beginning to devalue their knowledge and daily work that they have strived for years. But here’s a secret: this isn’t the first time in history. Our world has seen several industrial revolutions, and many professions have faded into oblivion, such as lamp lighters, handloom weavers, elevator and telegraph operators, and more. Therefore, we are not the first, nor the last.

But this isn’t the end; it’s the beginning of something new. We are alive and well, and ready to face a new chapter in history together. The most crucial thing is to appreciate and love one another, as well as what we have. Thank you for reading my article!
