Alexa on Amazon App and AVS

It’s not a surprise to hear that Alexa is now on the Amazon App. If it can help guide consumers towards using Amazon’s assistant, why not?

What’s surprising about Alexa Voice Service is the openness in how it can be deployed. Siri — completely closed, Google Assistant — only can be narrowly deployed. Cortona — you better like Windows. AVS — can be put on many things and have many different interfaces to triggering it. While we have an Android app with AVS called Ubi App this new interface is no threat at all. It just shows more ways of how AVS can be embedded into apps or hardware.

The challenge will be keeping up with the features of AVS to ensure that local clients are able to perform well and provide a consistent Alexa experience. This is the work we do.
