Home Pet Peeve: No Web Access

One of my pet peeve’s with the Google Home is that there’s no web accessibility to it. Only through the Google Home app on Android/iOS is there some semblance of control but the app is more of a Chrome Cast replacement than a companion for interaction with the Google Home.

Some immediate things that could improve the experience would be:

  1. Have an easy web site showing a list of what was requested to the Google Home
  2. Display data that might be available to the Google Home (e.g. recordings and results — maybe there’s other sensor data?)
  3. Suggest new Actions for Google that could be enabled.

The Echo does a good job of this on alexa.amazon.com but the Google Home makes it feel like there’s a lot still trapped in the device, waiting to come out.
