Wild Flower, I’m ecstatic if my experience and my words help someone else to be reminded that it is not wrong to be out there and taking part in the change that is needed in this world. It is huge, daunting, confusing, rewarding and yes extremely sad at times to see the devastation that capitalism has laid bare on the lives of those living in developing countries. You hear it said that our comforts in the “first world” come at the expense of those in the “third world,” but not until you actually see it and live it does it all come together.

The challenge is in finding a way to let the sadness, anger, and indignation, fuel the work, while staying grounded in the fact that I am not here to save or fix, or change or liberate those that I am working along side of. The social and grassroots orgs and communities know better than anyone where their oppression is coming from and how they need to struggle to achieve dignity and justice.

Thanks for the hug and huge fucking handshake ☺️If there is anything I can do to answer questions, provide encouragement, give a shoulder to cry on or lend an ear to vent to as you venture forth, don’t hesitate to contact me.
