I’m afraid that while we look to the Internet and its forums for healthy debate and discourse, human nature has devolved the medium into the digital equivalent of graffiti words on the wall of a bathroom stall. Deviants, ne’er-do-wells, and malcontents (frequently misogynists frustrated with their own inability to successfully navigate relationships with the opposite sex) scratch out hatred and hurtful things they think are either cathartic or clever; the vast majority of these folks don’t have the courage (or at least they perhaps have the decency or fear of social reprisal) to ever say these things in person in a one-on-one conversation with the individual they criticize.
