“All trailers lie.” Full stop. This is exactly why I noted after The Ringer piece extolling the trailer for “Bright” (because it shows the Will Smith we remember and loved) that I’ll believe it when I see the film in five months.

While I find a few trailers to be works of art that stand on their own visually and emotionally, only a tiny percentage of them truly reflect the movie they’re touting.
