It’s unfortunate the flack Hip Hop artists (Lauryn Hill will always be that before anything else to me) get when they do one or two things: Step out of the zone/range that their original fan-base is accustomed to seeing/hearing them as and the cardinal sin no one can help is get older. Hip Hop is the only major genre of music in the United States specifically where as Hip Hop artists get older, they are cast away into the toy box and replaced by a shiny and newer toy. But I digress… There’s a difference to me between being a fan and being a lover of the artist. A fan is fickle. The lover never stops loving the artist regardless.
