Publically funded anything is a boondoggle riff with political paybacks, overspending, and sheer politics of the worst kind. Ask Juan Williams, a liberal how it felt to be run off NPR because he associates with a few conservatives on FOX. I do not think one would mistake him for being right wing in any sense of the word. NPR at one point in its genisus was at least a generator of ideas that could be discussed openly, now it is more like a propaganda wing of the progressive left…if this is what public funding in media does, it should be stopped immediately.
