Someone once told me, in a narrative quite similar to yours: “once a Catholic, always a Catholic.”

There was an old time Radio Story Teller and Humorist, who penned a several books named Jean Shepherd. Most of his stories revolved around growing up in the steel towns of northwest Indiana. I used to listen to him late at night in my room growing up and later bought several of his books. The one I liked best had the title which seems appropriate here:

“IN GOD WE TRUST, ALL OTHERS PAY CASH”

Maybe that’s what should have been emblazoned on the rear of that police car; or perhaps on many church announcement boards out front.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
