I think the reason why a lot of people, including myself, are hesitant when it comes to self-teaching (or simply fail to persevere from there on) is because we can’t let go of our obsession with efficiency. i.e you want to learn maximum while investing minimum of your time/energy etc. You probably wouldn’t have thought about ripping apart your TV if this notion of efficiency was so putting you off, instead you pursued your curiosity and then the rest just happened. So if I was to re-name the title of this post, i’d say ‘Forget about efficiency, pursue curiosity’. Thanks for the great read :)
