nVidia’s pascal architecture is coming out in the next year or so; it’s going to blow my 980ti away. Not sure how the next cards are only going to run at 30fps? Was that tongue in cheek or do you really think there is a conspiracy to reduce refresh rate?
I’ve always went with single GPU builds. When possible, I like to replace my GPU about once per year. BTX kind of screwed that up for me for a long time, as I explained above. But there’s no question, I’ll be getting Pascal.
The story above just briefly touches on a couple systems I’ve had over the years, I built a budget gaming rig in 2003 as well. It was the only AMD computer I ever had. Even without overclocking, the processor burned up on me. This left me without a desktop until my BTX build.
I realize that AMD has made huge strides in the way of lowering temperatures since then, but their software/driver support is still junky. I personally don’t buy any AMD or ATI products.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. If you don’t mind me asking, what setup are you running and what types of framerates are you seeing with games like Crysis, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and other First Person Shooters?
