Here is the start of our adventure: The Tech Caterer to the Stars and A Silicon Valley Vet Try to Launch the Hardest Bootstrapped Startup in the Bay Area: A New Food Truck!

As anyone knows, all the startup advice in the world boils down to:

Validate your market and product before you start.

Get people to love your product and say so!

So, we did a sort of MVP. The cooking duo agreed to a menu they could do at some scale. Then offered the menu via FB marketplace and friends and ran it for 3+ weeks. Check it here! Revenue ranged on just contacts, referrals, new people and unpaid social from $200/day to $820/day with most days above $400. Wife has been doing all the social marketing, not me, so kudos for having great feedback on those orders. Also, some dishes were added to the Menu, some were dropped. So certainly we did prove at least there was demand for the selected menu, despite a well competitive market of 100's of sellers online. We did do a low delivery fee ($3 on orders of $20+) and pay via COD. But we didn’t do ads or paid anything yet. So we certainly think we can add more with steady traffic. Now, the challenge is to do this 4x-5x a day in a truck. Next, our market analysis and whether the timing is right or not.
