3 Planes of Existence

We exist in three planes: the Physical, the Mental and the Spiritual. We share these with sentient/non-sentient living things (animal or vegetable), microbial life, and inert matter.

Human Knowledge sits in the Mental plane and pushes the boundaries of understanding into the Physical and Spiritual planes. But it can never truly understand either. Only the Body understands/dominates the Physical plane; only the Soul can understand/sense the Spiritual plane.

The Mind understands/dominates the Mental plane, but can only reflect (ruminate?) on Matter, it can never truly grasp Matter’s essence using its Mind (that’s why a ballet dancer knows more about physics than a physicist). Same for the Spiritual, it is hard using only one’s rational Mind to see that there is a Spiritual plane at all.

CAVEAT LECTOR: I did this in my youth, I had great teachers. I thought if the world exists without us then emotions are not necessarily of the world. It was easy then to isolate emotions from the big picture, not so easy now. Clearly the 3 Planes is only part of the story; where and how to integrate the Emotional element is really what each of our life stories is about.
