Like it or not, Google makes money when people visit YouTube, Google Maps, and Google Images. In addition to the ads Google sells on its Search Engine Results Pages, or SERPS, these properties are poised to be big money makers for the search giant. So, it makes sense that they are nudging businesses to supply content to these properties.

One such nudge comes in the form of Google’s “Universal Results.”

According to this article from SearchEngineLand.com — 85% of Google searches yield SERP pages that “’blend’ results from ‘vertical’ search engines like Google Images, Google Videos, Google Maps or Google News into its web search listings.

And, as this article from ReelSEO — reports, video content now appearing for around 65% of user queries. Not surprisingly, more than 54% of those video results are YouTube videos.

If you think your website is optimized you may need to pause here and think again. If you are not using properly taged images on all of your web site’s pages. Or, don’t have videos on your site and don’t think you need a YouTube channel. You’re missing out on an opportunity to acquire more than one link on search engine result pages that are critical to driving leads to your business.
