Guide To Gwinnett: Education
Education is often cited as the key to success, and the school systems in Gwinnett no doubt open the doors of opportunity for businesses and citizens alike.
In the K-12 arena we have Gwinnett County Public Schools, Buford City Schools and several award winning private schools.
The Gwinnett County Public School system is the largest school system in the state, and Gwinnett’s largest employer. Over 175,000 students attend 136 and counting facilities. There are 79 elementary schools, 28 middle schools, 21 high schools and 8 unique facilities serving the diverse interests and needs of students. Each school district is separated into clusters.
The City of Buford hosts its own school system for citizens who live within the city limits there. The system has four schools — Elementary (K-1), Academy (2–5), Middle (6–8) and High School 9–12). The system is known for its academic achievements as well as championship level sports.
In the private school sector, Gwinnett comes up a winner too. Greater Atlanta Christian, Hebron Academy, Riverside Military, Providence Christian and Wesleyan are just a few of the award winning private schools rounding out options for Gwinnett Citizens.
