Wow, what a fundamentally biased, mischaracterization of the system the entire world is gravitating towards, and that is a MIXED economy. It’s not about capitalism versus socialism outright, it’s about finding the right combination, the sweet spot in the middle. And the middle is ever changing, ever moving, ever evolving. I think the U.S. has the best mix, leaning towards the free market but with some obvious elements of socialism and collectivism intertwined to protect the poor. This author only sees it as black and white, and her assumptions about the virtues of socialism and the evils of capitalism vastly ignore facts, history, and objective truth. in other words, it’s NOT so “simple.”
