February Recap: Partnerships and events, all with an eye on Sustainability!

February was a great month for us. We expanded our operations in East-Java and invited new partners to the ecosystem. All with a focus on sustainability. Let’s take a moment to reflect together!

Kick-off Meeting with BNI in Bojonegoro

HARA conducted a meeting with the BNI team in Bojonegoro. The main objective of the meeting was to coordinate with both teams on the disbursements of KUR (subsidized microcredit and is one of the national economic initiatives aimed at improving access to finance for small to medium enterprises in Indonesia) that will be launched in April.

HARA joins the Inclusive Business Ecosystem in Indonesia (Seminar AVPN)

HARA was invited to speak at the Developing Inclusive Business & Impact Investment 2019 seminar organized by Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) and Business Action Network (IBAN) at Hermitage Hotel, Jakarta. The members of both networks consist of leaders from the public and private sector all with an interest in including the poor and underprivileged. The aim of the seminar is to explore the market opportunities of Inclusive Business (IB) in Indonesia. An Inclusive Business is trusted to give sustainable benefits for low-income communities. It was great to meet like-minded organizations that are focusing on creating opportunities for the Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP).

A new partnership with TerraSphere

The firm belief that data sharing in the agriculture value chain can help improve the productivity of smallholder farmers brought together HARA and TerraSphere in a new partnership. With both companies enabling data-driven decisions making for the agriculture sector, this partnership aims to leverage satellite data to improve the visibility of crop growth and productivity in the field. TerraSphere is a Netherlands-based company that offers Geo-ICT (Geographic Information and Communication Technologies) solutions through satellite, UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) mapping, as well as GIS analysis. TerraSphere provides custom mapping products based on earth observation imagery to various companies (Arcadis, Microsoft) and government agencies.

Sustainable Development Goals

HARA is working towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. While creating a data-driven ecosystem HARA is supporting #1 No Poverty, #2 Zero Hunger, #5 Gender Equality, #8 Descent Work and Economic Growth, #9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

Plans for March

March will be a special month for us. Our main focus of the month will be on the repayment of the loans provided by BTPN-Syariah. Our field agents are trained and ready for the big operation!

Last but not least, HARA will star at the prestigious SXSW Conference in Texas, USA. HARA is the only Indonesian company invited by the organization to speak during the Ignite session about Data Empowerment and Blockchain.
