What They Said

I see so much similarity in this document to what I hear everyday in Houston. This document could have been produced by speaking with educators and parents or students in any of our schools.

I sincerely hope that others (legislators) will listen. Unfortunately, I see more rhetoric based on a failed system of overreliance on standardized testing. How does one tie funding to test scores and create equitable learning centers for all students?

Our future economy and workforce depends upon shifting to a model of school improvement that recognizes the basic needs of students and families must be addressed if we want to increase success with all students-community schools.
