Master Shifu Said it

What Kung Fu Panda Can teach us all

I will always love animated movies. Especially now that I’m adult. Not only can I see the humor that our children love but I can also identify the life lessons we all need to learn.

A few months ago I took my daughter to see Kung Fu Panda. IT WAS AWESOME! I laughed, I cried and I learned a lot along the way. So much was said and done in this movie but there were two quotes that stuck out to me. Two quotes that every entrepreneur, no, every person with or without the entrepreneurial spirit needs to remember.

Master Shifu first says “If you only do what you can do then you will never do more than you do now.” I know what you’re thinking; MIND BLOW!

I heard this and immediately pulled out my IPhone to type that in my note pad. I Know, I know. What a distraction. Surprisingly I received no crazy eyed stares. At least none that I could notice in a dark room.

But really, how true is that? How often, even as entrepreneurs, especially when we are making great traction, do we push ourselves to do more? When things are going well, do you look for more ways to better your brand or do you settle with the satisfaction of doing good, for now?

That’s something to ponder on. I think we all may get something different from that quote and that’s the whole point. To both intentionally and unintentionally find something to take away from what the master said in order to do more where more is needed.

Another awesome saying spoken by Master Shifu was meant for every ear to hear. Mostly for those whose pride begins to ruin them. He says “ There is always something to learn, even for a master.”

And that quote speaks for itself.

My friends, never shy away from animated movies. As you can see, we can gain so much from a story and it’s characters. We can laugh, we can cry and even feel a bit convicted at times. But if we are willing to learn, we can also grow.
