#Question: Are tax incentives for businesses and corporations ultimately beneficial or not to the state or local government giving them?

While some in favor of tax breaks for businesses say they create a multiplier effect for jobs and economic activity in the region, critics have argued additional salaries from these jobs often do not make up for the discount that businesses receive. Other instances that governments often give tax breaks for are large sports stadiums and movie sets. These investments often end up costing the region, but can be a point of local pride for the residents. Do you believe these tax breaks and other incentives are worthwhile? Why or why not?
