Meet the new leader of The Russia Investigation, Rep. Mike Conway
Representative Mike Conway is a 68 year old male, whose allegiance lies within Republican Party. After high school, he attended East Texas University and played football for 4 years, bringing home two state championships. After graduating in 1970 with a accounting degree, Representative Conway enlisted in the army.
Conway was in the Army from 1970–1972, reaching the title of Specialist. After leaving the Army, he became a Certified Public Accountant in 1974. From 1981–1986, he was the CFO for Arbusto Energy Inc, an oil and gas exploration firm operated by George W. Bush.
An early investor of Arbusto Energy was James R. Bath. Bath invested 50k into George Bush’s energy company, on behalf of Salem Bin Laden, the half brother of Osama Bin Laden.
Soon after Bush was made governor of Texas, George W appointed Conway to the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy, which regulates accountancy in Texas. Conway served on the board as a volunteer for seven years, the last five as chairman. Conway is one of the few Certified Public Accountants in Congress.
Conway was elected to office in 2005. Conway’s predecessor was a Democrat named Chet Edwards. Before taking office in 2005 Conway lost an election for Seat House in 2003, losing by a margin of 537 votes, to another Republican named Randy Neugebauer. According to some, they year after Conway’s loss, then House Majority Leader, Tom DeLay, engineered an effort to gerrymander districts in order to ensure Mike Conway’s election victory in 2005.
In 2008, Conway endorsed Mitt Romney for president. Conway’s top political donor is Berkshire Hathaway. BH donated 43,000 dollars to his campaign in 2016.
