Since the last hurdle of covid19, we are now close to less than 2 weeks to conduct the very first test of our hypersonic glide vehicle HGV-202F.

The following points will brief about the upcoming test and more

  • Is it a flight test? if yes, which launch missile will be used?

Ans: No, it’s not a flight test. We are still years away from flight test. This will be a lab test.

  • At what velocity, hypersonic?

Ans: Yes, this HGV test will be conducted at hypersonic speed of Mach 6.

  • Is this mach 6, a final speed of HGV-202F?

Ans: Absolutely not, as this test is more about studying its maneuverability and is its initial test of pull-up phase.

And there is no enough strategic benefit of mach 6 either. So it must be of upper hypersonic range.

  • Is this test of HGV will be on full scale model or what?

Ans: No, it will be conducted on its scaled model.

  • How HTNP Industries have developed cutting edge metallurgical advancement to overcome heating issues?

Ans: HTNP Industries, didn’t developed any new material but has made critical adjustments in existing materials and design so as to overcome heating issues.

  • How come an early-stage startup is trying to do something which big organizations are also struggling for so long and with enough skilled workforce and investments? It rises suspicion.

Ans: The major technological challenges in making an HGV are Material science and communication blackout along with design. But We have theoretically orchestrated a different way to overcome these issues. Thus these major challenges have been lowered down for us.

  • Is HTNP Industries alone working on this project?

Ans: HTNP Industries alone is working on designing of HGV to not compromise with its secrecy. However for other processes it is impossible to work alone so we are working with some really good and well-reputed Indian educational institutions and deeptech startups.

  • Any word on the expected timeline of the project?

Ans: As per the project director Saurav L. Chaudhari the vehicle will be ready for its final flight test in mid of the year 2023. The CEO Shantanu Gawande estimated the final flag in the timeline to be at the end of the same year 2023.

  • How HGV-202F will be different than other HGV’s?
  1. It flies at the speed of upper hypersonic
  2. Cost comparably less than existing HGV’s
