5 Ways to Engage at HUBweek 2017

by HUBweek

We don’t want you to just attend HUBweek. We want you to collect moments and take them with you, too — whether that’s an “aha!” moment or a “what if..” moment or even just a “remember when…” moment. With this year’s festival only 5 weeks away, we figured we’d share 5 events where you’ll have the chance to interact and really engage with our city’s community of smart, creative, curious people. Who knows who you’ll meet?

Here they are:

  1. The 5th Annual BUILD Entrepreneur Games: an Olympics-themed event that brings 1,000+ members of Boston’s tech, venture capital, and start-up companies together for an afternoon of fierce, but friendly competition and networking. (October 11th, Roxbury, 50 free tickets on a first-come-first-served basis)
  2. HUBweek Deep Dives: a series of interactive programming presented by our founders, Harvard, MIT, and Mass. General Hospital focused on directly engaging the audience in problem-solving discussion on the topics of climate change, A.I. in medicine, the opioid crisis, and precision medicine. (October 12–13, The HUB, free)
  3. The Art of Talking Science Competition: a fast-paced science communication challenge hosted by MGH Research Institute where researchers will present their work to you and a panel of expert science communicators. (October 11, MGH, free)
  4. The Dell PolicyHack: an interactive hack-a-thon, hosted by Dell Technologies, that tasks teams of policymakers, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and students to design solutions to policy challenges faced by entrepreneurs running growing businesses. (October 11, Kendall Square, free)
  5. De-Stress Boston: a community-wide experiential education session, hosted by the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine, about the power of stress reduction techniques to improve health and build resiliency (October 14, MGH, free)
