How To Boost Your Internet Speed
Get the most out of your broadband speed with these simple tips

If you want to get the most out of your internet connection, then here are some useful tips that can help you.
- Make sure you have microfilter adapters, which split your voice and broadband signals, are connected into every socket you use and not just the one you use for broadband.
- Keep your router close to the phone socket. Phone lines might be of poor quality which can limit performance, so if you need the router to be further away from the socket then buy as good a cable as you can.
- Make sure there are no thick objects to interfere with your wifi signal. Routers can also suffer from electrical interference, so place them high up in a room, preferably out of the way of other electrical items.
- Use a widget to cut off any unnecessary and interference prone old phone sockets. BT’s i-plate is a good example of one.
- Change the frequency of your router, or get a better antenna. This can be especially helpful if there are lots of networks near to your home (which let’s face it, there probably are).
- Check and update your PC/Mac. Check your anti-virus is up to date, you are using the latest browser, you have cleared your cache, and stop automatic software updates.. These are all things that can help you improve your internet performance.
