7 Mantras to Recite When You Are Afraid of New Things
From Unshakeable Trust by #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Joyce Meyer
“Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.” –George Bernard Shaw
1. I like change.
Many people don’t like change and aggressively resist it. But things in this world are always changing, whether we want them to or not, so refusing to accept is useless. Change is a constant in all of our lives, and to resist it is like resisting the wind when it decides to blow. We cannot get from where we are to where we want to be without change of some kind, so embrace it!
2. I want to change.
If you don’t like or want change, ask yourself why. You may find that even you don’t understand the reasoning behind your attitude, and that simply changing your thinking will give you an entirely new perspective.
3. I believe the changes in my life will make things better.
When we have unexpected change in our lives, or even planned changes, it often leaves us with many questions and anxiety. But trust is key. If you are a person who does not like change, you might want to change your mind about change, because it often produces some of the most positive things in our life.
4. I’m excited about seeing the results of change.
Some things we initially resist end up being a blessing in a greater way than we expect. Learn to expect good things with each change in your life, and you will experience peacefulness and positivity in the end.
5. I want to be all I can be and I know that change is part of the process.
We expect change when it comes to things like the weather, but we also need to expect change in other areas of our lives, because it always happens. To everything there is a time, a season, and everything is beautiful in its time.
6. I want to be where God wants me to be and that may require change.
If you are in a season of change and it seems that things are not working out, just be patient and continue being faithful to do what you feel God is leading you to do.
7. It is never too late for change.
Transformation can be a long and painful journey, and there are times when we get off course and go in the wrong direction. No matter the number of bumps in the road, it is never too late to change and see your destiny fulfilled.
