There are lots of prizes to be won at HackTM 2018.

Our sponsors and partners set up a few specific challenges where you can prove your skill and creativity. You can win electric scooters, gaming consoles, phones, and other cool things if you build a project specific to their judging criteria. Read all about the sponsor prizes here.

Basically, if you build a web app that’s somehow connected to electricity generating bicycles, can be installed on a car and in your home, has a conversational interface AND caters to the community, you can take away all prizes. Good luck with that!

But what if your project idea doesn’t fit those criteria? Of course you can still win the Grand Prize: a loot crate full of secret stuff, worth $$$$. Take a look at last year’s crate:

Starting at 12am on Sunday the appointed judges will come by your table and ask you about your work. They will make their impression and rate your project on Gavel, a super-high-tech hackathon judging system developed by the guys over at HackMIT. You’ll also be able to recognise them by their green t-shirts. Or maybe you know them already. The provisional list of judges is:

We expect jurying to last about 3–4 hours. The result of the judging process is a shortlist of 10 projects who will demo their projects on stage.

After the demos are completed everyone gets to vote for their favorite project. Each vote will count as points for the shortlisted projects, which are added to the points already given by the jury. In short 50% of your score is given by the jury, 50% by other participants.

The project with the largest score takes away HackTM’s Grand Prize!

See you at HackTM!
