Hakt DAO is a public good DAO that funds smart contract security through the auctioning of unique, single-edition NFTs themed around the largest crypto hacks in history.
Funds raised from NFT auctions will go towards grants, bounties, and white-hat stipends, the distribution of which will be selected by Hakt DAO members.

Hakt NFTs
Genesis Hacks:
Our core contributors have generated unique, single-edition NFTs representing each of the largest crypto hacks. There have been 56 “genesis hacks” as of October 12th, 2021: full list of hacks.
50 genesis hack NFTs will be minted and auctioned off to the public over a 48-hour period in ascending order, from smallest to largest hack, for a total duration of 100 days. Auction winners will also automatically receive a BOB and gain membership access to Hakt DAO.
The other 6 will go to Stacker Ventures in return for helping bootstrap Hakt DAO.
Future Hacks:
When a new hack (future hack) reaches the leaderboard, a corresponding NFT will be generated by DAO artists and auctioned off over a 7-day period after a 48-hour countdown period.
BOBs — Hakt DAO Membership Tokens
BOBs are collectible NFTs, separate from the Hakt NFTs, that act as governance tokens for Hakt DAO. They will feature varying rarity and unique artistic features.
BOB holders will participate in decisions regarding governance rules within the Hakt community and the distribution of DAO funds. 1 BOB = 1 vote.
BOBs will be sold via a bonding curve, with the first BOB priced at 0.1 ETH. In addition, the supply of BOBs will increase by 1 every time a Hakt NFT is sold via auction (the winner will receive a BOB and gain membership access to the DAO).
BOBs can also be traded on NFT marketplaces like OpenSea.
Public Good Funding
Upon the initiation of the DAO, there will be three types of grants available to blockchain projects, smart contract researchers, and white hat hackers:
- Audit Grants — Any protocol may apply for an audit grant. Applications will be assessed and voted on by the DAO.
- Protocol Bounty Matching — Any protocol with a smart contract security bounty may apply to have their bounty matched (fully or partially) by Hakt DAO. Smaller projects that may have less funding available for bounties will be prioritized.
- Security Stipends — Any white hat hackers may apply for funding for efforts put into protocol vulnerability research and discovery.
