That is a fascinating article. Aside from the psychological analysis, it seems there is a huge safety problem with people taking potentially dangerous actions while they are still asleep. There are “bed alarms” that will notify a caregiver if a dementia patient gets out of bed. It looks like it’s either a motion sensor or a pad that the patient sleeps on. Would that also work for a sleepwalker, if the alarm pager was next to the bed? Might be a good investment for people who have almost jumped out a window while asleep.
