Mission of Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association in New York City

A founder and managing partner of Tuan Olona, LLP, Han-Hsien Tuan is a New York-based practicing attorney in areas such as general corporate law, construction law, real estate, and otherss. Outside of work, Han-Hsien Tuan also actively participates in charity work through his involvement in organizations such as the Friends of Stuyvesant, which he serves as treasurer.

In 2014 the Friends of Stuyvesant allied with the Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association, a nonprofit organization initiated with multiple missions. These missions include strengthening relations between alumni and Stuyvesant High School, as well as among alumni and current students, through different programs; helping the school generate and render financial aid and other support to fund academic and extracurricular activities in the school; and providing scholarships and other awards to deserving students of the school.

Moreover, students attending Stuyvesant High School have access to many resources provided by the Alumni Association. One such facility includes StuyPrep Coach, founded in 2016. Targeted to middle school students, the program is designed to help students from underrepresented regions of New York City obtain admission to Stuyvesant or other similar high schools in the city.
