Rural King Store Manager Mike Butler prepares to cut the ribbon

Local dignitaries, store management, shoppers and a…rooster!

Thursday, March 23 — Rural King celebrated its Hartland Grand Opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning. Store Manager Mike Butler did the honors, and also formally announced that Rural King looks forward to hosting Hartland’s Farmers Market in the coming months.

Township Supervisor Bill Fountain was on hand to welcome the store, and to commend its employees for their hard work in getting the store ready for the community.

The ribbon-cutting drew quite a local crowd. Kingsley the Rooster appeared to be very much at home; he attended with his owner, Charlotte, whose Dad works at Rural King.

Roosters and dogs are allowed to shop, as long as they are polite and on a leash. Rural King offers free treats for pups…

AND free treats for human shoppers. Check out the popcorn and coffee stand near the front of the store for a hot cuppa and a small bag of the “Best Popcorn EVER”!

Once you are fortified, it is time to SHOP! Rural King will help you get ready for spring gardening…

Or fishing…

Or chickening…

So much to see, do and buy at Rural King!

Stop by for a visit…

And a piece of Opening Day cake! (Was I supposed to wait until AFTER the ribbon-cutting ceremony? Shhh! I might have jumped the gun on the cake!!!)

Rural King (in the old Walmart building) is located at 10400 Highland Rd., Hartland, MI 48353, 810–632–9851, and is open 7 AM-9 PM everyday!

It’s official!
