NEW BUSINESS:

Michelin has chosen Havas Media as its global media agency of record following a competitive review. Havas Media will handle media planning and buying duties for all of the company’s major markets including the United States, Mexico, Canada, France, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom and China.

One Green Bean has added four new clients to its portfolio including Holden, Tourism Australia, Red Bull and Mutti Parma.

APPOINTMENTS / DEPARTURES:

Havas Greater China is restructuring operations with the existing executive leadership team assuming additional duties.

AWARDS / RANKINGS:

Havas Health & You Global CEO Donna Murphy is on the 4A’s list of the 100 advertising professionals who are shaping the future of the industry.

Havas Media Australia has been ranked 4th for new business wins in June by R3.

II/ The Competition

NEW BUSINESS:

MediaCom has won Richemont’s $US400 million media business from Publicis.

UM has been named U.S. media agency of record for Ubisoft after a review. The new assignment will be led from UM’s office in San Francisco, where the client’s U.S. operations are based.

PITCHES:

Amazon has launched a review of its $1 billion global media buying business. Initiative & MEC are incumbents.

NETWORK, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, JOINT-VENTURES, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENTS:

WPP has invested in Within, a virtual and augmented reality company with offices in LA and San Francisco.

Grey has acquired a majority stake in French full-service digital agency Sensio. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dentsu Aegis Network has acquired Sokrati, an Indian based data-driven performance marketing and analytics agency. Post-acquisition, Sokrati will be rebranded as Merkle | Sokrati.

IPG Mediabrands has launched MAGNA in India. MAGNA is the centralised IPG Mediabrands resource that develops intelligence, investment and innovation strategies for agency teams and clients.

IPG has reported Q2 revenue of $1.88 billion, a 1.7% decline from a year earlier. Organic revenue increased 0.4%.
