The Vision: Karlee’s POV

“You are beautiful.” This phrase made of 3 words, 5 syllables and 15 letters is so simple, yet it is the one true phrase everyone strives for. To obtain this feeling of beauty, we spend countless time posting photoshopped selfies, wearing attention-grabbing clothing and covering our faces in mud. We put heat-damaging irons to our hair, toxic paint to our nails and cutting razors to our legs. We determine our self-worth by retweets, likes, comments and favorites. We do all of this for a phrase, a 3 word, 5 syllable, 15 letter phrase.

Why is it this way? All of our actions are so we will be pretty. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? All of our actions are because we are pretty.

This mixed logic society has needs to be changed, and the only way to alter this is to address the Heart of the Matter.

Instead of the average beauty campaigns that we have seen time and time again, Heart of the Matter is going to change it up. Instead of us telling you that you are worthy, you are going to find self-worth. Instead of us telling you that you are beautiful, you are going to tell yourself that you are beautiful. Instead of us serving you, you are going to serve yourself. We have seen people try over and over to implement beauty in others, but beauty comes from within yourself. You are an unique, beautiful person, but us telling you this won’t make you believe it.

So, let’s start with the heart. Be confident in yourself. Feel beautiful about yourself. Then, serve yourself and others on the same journey. Now you are also addressing the Heart of the Matter.
