Dear Lynette

Thank you for your response. There’s nothing worse than to reach out to someone you thought you could count on, only to have them pull away from you. I’m glad you were able to put it behind you and even feel she was wrong for failing you, not you for trusting her.

As for my cousin, I’m no longer harbouring any hostile emotions towards her. But we’ll never be friends as such. Her and I are too different, our ideals and values are very far apart, and I have to say I don’t appreciate them very much. But all that matters is that I know I’m free from the resentment I felt towards her and can focus on taking care of those cousins I have that I feel closer to :)
