All you need to know about holistic health coaching
If you are (or want to be) a holistic health Coach it means that you want to assist your clients in finding new ways to successfully adopt healthier habits.
You probably know that a health coach is not only helpful to people who are having trouble losing weight or do a one time session.
Health coaching is about establishing a partnership between the coach and the client. No one is above the other — it is mutual understanding and beyond motivation. In other words, it involves all six dimensions of health and wellness.

A health coach works with a client to assess the current level of health and based on that, develop suitable goals and action plans.
6 qualities that every holistic health coach should possess:
1.Empathy
You must be able to put yourself in the client’s shoes. As a health coach you have to understand what your client goes through without experiencing the same thing.
2. Active listening skills
You have to learn how to listen in an effective way and how to ask right questions.
3. Non-Judgmental
In its simplest form, non-judgment is acceptance. In this job, there is no room for personal opinion.
4. Supportive
You have to learn how to create a supportive environment, where a client would be most comfortable in.

A good health coach would have excellent probing skills. To help the client understand the circumstances he is in and what he needs to do, a coach must help him get there.

- Provide information about health and various choices regarding food, exercises, and treatments
- Help in managing emotional impact of health concerns
- Help set goals
- Create small steps towards meeting the goals
- Provide support and motivation for behavior change
- Educate and improve self-management
Rather than allowing the client to become fully dependent, it is a duty of a holistic coach to help a client learn self- management.
