Considering myself a story teller above any other quick and easy label, I really appreciate your talents, Richard.
I did want to mention an idea for the footer you use, having gone through several ideas of the sort, myself. I’ve found what works best is to actually create a new story just for links to the parts of the story and instead of linking to the previous part, have it link to that, so it’s like a table of contents to easily move to any part of the story. Then just add links to the new pieces as they are published.
Here’s an example you may find useful.

and the page listing the pieces of the story:
The cool thing about it is you can either publish it normally, outside of a publication, as it will typically get recommends based on the piece referring to it, or, if don’t want it out there as a story, make it unlisted and it still links the same.
