Well, Heath.

I am so… I don’t know the word, flattered sounds so insincere, but you get this on a deeper level and it just lifts me up to hear you describe it.

Love, yes. Love love love. There are a thousand kinds of ways love, kindness, compassion, which are all forms of love, really, can change things. From showing a deep love, appreciation, and and affection, as in my poem, to your words to Michael Adewunmi (who I am also very impressed with), so many examples and feel I’d be getting silly to keep listing, but what you’ve said here is so amazingly relevant and important (and I’m not just talking about the nice things you said about my poem :p ).

A love poem in the midst of disasters… it’s when we need them most :)

I can be a bit myopic sometimes, I’m actually quite shy so I developed a stronger tendency towards the intimate relationship. But, just as you said, the concepts are transient. The desire to just do something nice for someone, to smile and be smiled back at, to stand with someone just to let them know they’re not alone.

I witnessed a small act by someone here on Medium. An incredibly small gesture and I don’t want to embarrass anyone so no names, but this tiny gesture, this bit of unprompted love for another human being had this profound effect that gives me chills when I recall the power and potency of it. In addition that small gesture of love formed a fierce friendship.

Love gets disregarded because it can’t be bought and sold. It’s free so it must be worthless. That’s what has to change with people.

And you WalkerJojones, you’re not getting out of this unscathed. I’ve been on this site for several years now. It wasn’t until 2–3 months ago that that I began writing seriously again and finding my entire perspective changed, a little bit here and a little bit there. The amount of love I have to give is exponentially increased and my willingness give it without judgement or condition grew from a pebble to a mountain. Do you even remember your kindness and encouragement to me? :) You were part of that. You are one of the people here who got the fire going underneath me. That poem and the hundreds I’ve written recently, most of them based on love, would not exist if not for the people here who made me feel like family, and that includes you, big time.

You gave me love and now I’m giving you love, always. :)
