Thanks for the feedback Heath, and much of what you said I agree with.

Thanks for not tearing my post apart :D this is the first time I’ve tried writing from the mobile app and I went back and forth between clumsy slide-typing and punctuationless voice to text. With my tendency to ramble I was worried I’d make no sense at all.

I do think that somewhere along the way I lost the plot a bit. I completely forgot to go into my strong opinion that true writers write for the love of writing. We sometimes forget great writers that went their entire lifetime with no recognition. They created art because that was what was in their soul, not for ratings, recommends, or top listings on a website. Instant recognition is nice but it is hardly a part of the traditional writing experience.

So I’d say if you want to be a published writer don’t come on medium expecting that to happen. Write on medium as a place to have your writing stored, a place for other writers to read your work, enjoy it, and possibly critique it, and to expose yourself to very talented writers who you could possibly learn from while they learn from you.

It’s really about expectations. However, I do agree, as Tim Barrus stated, that anytime medium alters or changes the wording or designs of your article, that violate something pretty personal to a writer.

Again this is posted from the mobile app so please excuse typos and such. My pc will hopefully be up and running again soon.
