We introduced to you the first project for a community pool in the private round, Fanzee, a TON-blockchain fan engagement platform that helps sports and entertainment organizations directly engage with their fans through advanced gamification mechanics.

This article is mainly focused on our findings and research about Fanzee, which helps you a better understanding of Fanzee and its token $FNZ.

Introduction

Fanzee is a web3 fan engagement platform that help sports and entertainment organizations directly engage with their fans through immersive fan journeys powered by advanced gamification mechanics.

The overall sports industry is estimated to be valued at 500 billion USD, among that 50 billion USD+ in terms of sports & esports merchandise value.

Key problems in this market:

  • Current web3 solutions focus on building their stand-alone platforms without direct interaction between sports and entertainment entities and their fans leading to low adoption of digital assets. Current digital assets are not backed by the underlying utility which is valuable to the average sports fan.

How Fanzee tackles these problems:

  • Provide a 360-degree fan engagement solution through a platform that fosters direct interaction between sports and entertainment entities and their fans by means of gamified fan journeys backed by various digital assets and money can't buy experiences.
  • Build a unified fans ecosystem, so we involve clubs and federations community that use our software to cross-engage throughout the platform. Our revenue is transaction-based, we charge 20% for each item sold throughout the platform (NFT/club tokens/interactive tickets etc).

Traction/Metrics/Financial

How Fanzee makes money:

Fanzee takes commissions on each transaction in the ecosystem. They charge 20% on any digital asset sold.

  • Marketplace with social features where users can compete, collaborate, and create fan clubs and guilds for social gaming. Fanzee marketplace will also promote social commerce and p2p trading.
  • An embedded CRM system for our partners that will provide them with an in-depth digital profile of clubs’ fans and use those valuable insights to shape their offerings and sponsor interests.
  • Keep onboarding esport agencies & artists. Goal: onboarding over 50 clubs by the end of the year.

Conclusion

Fanzee is basically trying to be the DAO hub for sports clubs. Incubating a DAO that gives meaningful ownership to fans, in a way that is easy to digest and understand, is secure, can juggle and execute complex operations, govern a football stadium, a football club’s comms and media team…and so on and so forth is very difficult. They are targeting web2 clients first, however the retention rate of this first batch will directly decide their long-term gameplay. Most successful web3 projects target web3 audiences instead of trying to convert web2 residences. Lastly, Ton Blockchain is quite early in terms of community maturity.

The executing team, especially the CEO of Fanzee is experienced and well-rounded in sports industry. Fanzee gets strong support from TON ecosystem & its investors (MEXC, ORBS, Kucoin,…), and already has the first stream of revenue which is increasing impressively.

Fanzee can be seen as the second generation of Chiliz or Socios which provides them with good relations and lessons to learn from. Fanzee has built a community comprising mostly smart buyers. focusing on Web2 users. Regarding market trend, sports tokens (World Cup trend) is availing. Twitter reported: “Fan token” topic increased by 994%, and crypto-related topics increased by 242%. Thus, there’s still room for SocialFi, especially Fan-token projects to grow in long term.
